Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

This is a very rare occassion, so I thought I should share it with you guys. It is actually snowing here in Houston. So far it has snowed .3" but we hope to get a bit more. James has never seen snow and it has been a some time since Lyndsey has, so the kids had a blast playing in it with their friends. Here are a couple of pictures for you to see!

Some time has passed.....

Well, it has been sometime since I have posted any new pics of the family so I am catching up this morning. We are all doing well and we hope the same for each of you!

Taking you back to Halloween...here are the kids right before we went trick-or-treating with some of their friends from the neighborhood. They loaded up on the lute and we have all enjoyed it since.

At the grand old age of 11, Lyndsey is ready for her first school dance. She is in the 6th grade and attended the Holiday Dance for her school. She went with a friend of hers and enjoyed hanging out and dancing the night away (ok, I picked them up at 8:00)!

Although James doesn't officially turn 3 until December 26th, we celebrated a little early with his friends at the park in our neighborhood. We enjoyed hotdogs, chips, hot chocolate and cupcakes. The kids had fun running around and playing.

Here we are at James party with one of our great friends, Madison. Again, we had lots of fun!

This is rare....a picture of Byron and I together!

Off to school for Lyndsey!

Today was Lyndsey first day of school....MIDDLE SCHOOL/JR HIGH! She got a ride with one of her good friends and was so excited! Isn't she beautiful?

The Wiggles Show!

James loves to watch Playhouse Disney each morning when he wakes up. He used to catch most show but now he sleeps too late (whew!). Anyway, one show he loved to watch was The Wigggles. If you don't know what that is, it is 4 men from Australia who sing and dance along with their many friends. Well, they were perfoming live here in Houston so I took James to the show. At first he was scared and wanted to go home...until...The Wiggles showed up in their big red car! It was a great time. Here, James is playin the guitar with Murray.

Also while in Branson, we visit Ripley's Believe It or Not museum. Here Lyndsey is next to the largest man in the world. God, I hope she doesn't get THAT big!

Here Lyndsey is standing next to the tallest man in the world. Think she'll grow that tall?

(James wouldn't go anywhere near these guys!)

A trip to Uncle Kurt's

This summer the kids and I went to Fayetteville, Arkansas to see my brother, Kurt. While there, we took a 2 day trip to Branson, Missouri with Kurt and Vanessa (his girlfriend). Here are the kids in the garden of the Bed & Breakfast we stayed at that overlooked the main strip.

He just can't quit.....

I love my husband very much, but the man just can't quit! So, we built the kids a playhouse/swingset last year...from scratch mind you. Well, Byron just can't quit "improving" it. He first added the cedar shingles and then added the trellis to keep the pesty birds off! Now all it needs is a TV and air conditioning and we'll be good to go!

I Can ROCK!

As I was putting together a family photo wall this morning, I couldn't help but stop to video James rocking out to a High School Musical 2 song that he loves! I think we have the next Bruce Springsteen on our hands.

Hard at work!

Ok, so Byron goes to our "camp" to do some handy-dandy work on the trailer so that it is more comfortable for me and the kids, right? Right! SO, as I am working my fingers to the bone at home painting, I get this email from him with the above picture attached. Hmmmm.....working hard or hardly working? I'll let you answer that question.

Helen's Garden

Byron and I are doing a family photo wall in our gameroom and I needed some good pics of the kids. So, this morning Lyndsey, James and I went to Helen's Garden located in downtown League City (our first visit since moving here). It is very pretty with lots of blooming flowers and water features. So, now I am sharing some of the pics that we managed to take.

This picture was taken by a very nice couple who was also visiting the garden. They were kind enough to offer to take a picture of all three of us (Byron's working so he couldn't be there).

Getting James to take a really good picture was difficult. He was having more fun running around the brick pathways than posing for me. But, I did manage to get a few of him.

Lyndsey, on the other hand, was the perfect model. She is so photogenic that it is easy to capture a great picture of her. She also loves to pose for the camera so I had no problems getting plenty of wonderfully beautiful pictures of her. Now all I have to do is choose one to put on our family wall!

I'm A Big Boy Now!

James got his first big boy bike with the help of G-Pa's Christmas $$. He took to it IMMEDIATELY! Once Daddy fixed the seat to fit him off he went. The first day he rode 1/2 way around the lake and back and then took two spins around the block! There was no stopping him. All I can say is, "Wow, he is growing up way too fast....he is only 2!"

Vroom, Vroom!

James loves to be pulled around in his little wagon. Daddy seems to enjoy the fun too. But what is funny is James loves to crash more than anything. He doesn't stay in the wagon long before throwing himself over the edge and laughing. We believe he will be a stunt-man when he grows up! So, look out Hollywood!

Our Family Friends

Each day, James and I, spend the afternoon (while waiting for Sissa to get home from school) looking for our favorite family friends. There are several little bunnies that love to call our flower beds home! Yesterday we were lucky enough to be able to get pictures of our furry little friend while he was looking for something to eat. We tried to feed him carrots but I think we scared him more than anything (he ate none of what we tried to feed him).

We also have plenty of chameleons to go around! Of course, the chameleons don't like us very much either so they don't stick around long once they get a glimpse of us. Either way, it is so much fun to see James' face when he finds his friends each day.

Yummy in my Tummy!

James loves his babysitter....and his babysitter loves him.
Here James is eating a chocolate cupcake made by her and
devouring every bite!

A Spring afternoon with the kids

The weather has been wonderful here in Houston and we love to spend a lot of time outside enjoying ourselves. I took this pic of the kids yesterday while they were playing together and tumbling through the yard. Lyndsey has been learning to do a cartwheel and James imitates her every move. They get along so well with each other...we are blessed!

A Family Fun Easter

This Easter our family spent a quiet (well, maybe not to our neighbors) day at home. We began our day viewing what the Easter Bunny had left for the kids the night before. Both, Lyndsey and James, were excited with what they found and then were ready to dye some eggs! Lyndsey and Byron did the "hard to dye" eggs while James and I just put one egg after another into as many colors as possible....as fast as possible.

Once James woke up from his nap, the participated in an Easter egg hunt throughout our yard. Once James realized what he was doing, there was no stopping him....well, maybe the fact that Lyndsey was just as excited about finding the hidden eggs and had a much better eye for where they were hidden! It was lots of fun for all. Throughout the day, Byron smokes some wonderfully delicious ribs, that we devoured for dinner, while we all played in the backyard. By the end of the day, we were all exhausted, full and ready for bed! We wished we could have shared our day with our families but had them on our minds and in our hearts all day.

Daddy and his babies!

Byron has been enjoying a lot of time with the kids. Him and James have a great father-and-son bond where Lyndsey has become daddies little girl. I love to sit and watch each of them interact and grow closer together as time goes on. I am a very lucky woman!

I Turned 11!

Lyndsey turned 11 on February 20th! I can't believe that she is growing up so fast. For her family birthday celebration, we had her favorite dinner, Chicken and Dumplings with some Mississippi Mud Pie for dessert, and just had fun at home. Then this past Saturday we had a "Gardening" party for Lyndsey and some of her closest friends. They got to paint clay pots and then take home all the fixings to grow a beautiful flower! We ate lots of pizza and enjoyed a Dirt cake for dessert. Lyndsey got lots of great gifts from her friends but mostly enjoyed having them all at the house where they could run around and act like kids!

I'm TWO!!!

James turned the big 2 on December 26th. And yes, we had a small party in his honor because he blessed our family on that day. James is very into the Shrek series of movies (oh gosh, do we have to watch it AGAIN?), so we got him a Shrek decorated cake and Byron had tons of fun decorating our dining area with balloons and streamers. James LOVED it. When he woke from his nap, it was all decorated just for him. The balloons became weapons as James, Lyndsey and Byron battled it out throughtout the house. It was so much fun!

A Family Affair

Our Christmas holiday was full of gatherings with friends and family and lots a toys for the little girl and boy. Anne's mom, dad, and brother, Kurt, all drove down to Texas for Santa's arrival. Lyndsey and James could hardly contain themselves from opening the gifts that sat patiently under the tree waiting for Christmas morning. Each day that passed, Lyndsey would count the gifts just to make sure one more had not appeared. The joy and excitement in both their eyes was priceless. James truly understood the art of opening gifts. He took his time with each, but was always amazed at each new toy he saw. Of course, Lyndsey ripped through hers without a glance until they were all sitting in front of her - then it was time to play. We spent the remained of the day relaxing and watching the kids play with each new thing.

From our family to yours, we hope you had a blessed and very Merry Christmas!
